The Phoenix Residence Outstanding Leadership Award Nominee - Michael Jenson

Michael Jenson, an employee at the Central Office, was nominated for The Phoenix Residence Outstanding Leadership Award.

A resident at Carver house had expressed his interest during an annual meeting that he would like to pursue getting his high school diploma/GED. The resident has made the request in the past, and would begin the process only to give up his dream for a number of circumstances:  health, anxiety, and personal struggles.  Michael offered his tutoring services shortly after.  Michael has been volunteering his time over the last year one to two times a week.  The resident has been progressing very well, and Michael believes he is getting closer in taking the exam.

Michael throughout the year has been a striving force getting The Phoenix Residence into the 21st century through technology.  He regularly updates our Phoenix Residence Facebook page, Twitters for Phoenix Residence, and collectively worked hard researching a better web page.  Looking ahead, our future employees will be able to fill out applications on line.  All of these improve our service and makes us easily available.

Michael always displays exceptional customer service and attitude.  As the head of Recruitment and Retention, he has paved the way in recognizing our employees Milestones achievement and recognition.  He has taken feedback from other team members to help support our own employees through these hard times:  coat drive, school drive, and this year giving tree.  He works with many departments and managers with kindness and ease through the good, the bad, and the ugly that can arise when performance is substandard.  Michael has made great strides with assisting in the understanding of FMLA, paid time off, and policy writing.  Thank you Michael for all you do for The Phoenix Residence!
