Bringing Back Our Golf Tournament
We are so grateful we could host our annual Russ Douglas Phoenix Golf Classic this summer! After two years on hiatus because of the COVID-19 pandemic, we brought it back—to an extent! We still offered the golfing and sold raffle tickets, but unfortunately, we did not host the after-golfing dinner and program, silent auction, or the raffle due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Despite all that, everyone still had a great time and they were excited to get back on the course! A few new additions we added this year included selling raffle tickets on the course, and adding our Last Chance Donation Station, a spot on the course where former family member Sherry Gray shared her family’s story and educated golfers about Phoenix and our Close the Gap campaign.
A special SHOUT OUT goes to all our volunteers! We could not have done this without you! We want to thank our staff, 3M volunteers, and several family members and board members who helped us out that day, including family members John Bredesen Jr. and Sandra Bredesen Burrowes who volunteered as event photographers, and Board Member Kirsten Gregerson who helped with on-the-course games. Also, a special thank you to family member Sharon Rask, who shared her family’s story in the letter that went out in February and addressed the crowd before the golfing.
