Final Push for Congress to Support Build Back Better Act

Please help us push this legislation past the finish line!

This week we received requests from both ANCOR & ARRM, our trade associations, for one Last Push for Congress to Support the Build Back Better Act. They are asking for our help to urge your members of Congress to support the inclusion of increased funding for HCBS in the budget reconciliation package, the Build Back Better Act. See below for more information from them:

Congress is in the final stretch of finalizing its budget reconciliation bill. These final negotiations will determine whether Congress will deliver on the President’s promise to strengthen and expand Medicaid Home and Community Based Services (HCBS).

The COVID-19 pandemic has worsened the crisis affecting the direct support professional (DSP) workforce, resulting in high turnover and forcing providers to discontinue services, turn away new referrals, delay the launch of new programs, and struggle to adhere to quality standards. Without a sustainable direct care workforce, individuals with disabilities' access to services remains threatened. Congress must invest in the DSP workforce, or the Medicaid HCBS program will continue to fall far short of reaching everyone in need.

THIS INVESTMENT WILL AFFECT US! Now is the time to insist that your members of Congress fully fund the HCBS program and address the DSP workforce crisis. To do so, visit the website below:
