Take Legislative Action TODAY!

Help Us with These Legislative Action Alerts from ANCOR & ARRM

We’ve had several Action Alerts come out this week from our trade organizations – and we need you to reach out to your legislators for support of disability services!

STATE LEVEL:

On the state level, the 2022 Legislative Session starts on Monday. ARRM (our local trade association) is asking the following:

We need EVERY legislator to hear about the importance of addressing the disability services workforce shortage early this session. Please take a few moments to send your legislator a message, describing the workforce crisis your organization or your loved one is experiencing, and ask them to take immediate action to support disability services.

FEDERAL LEVEL:

On the federal level, negotiations have stalled in the Senate on the Build Back Better Act. ANCOR (our national trade association) is asking the following:

Negotiations over the Build Back Better Act—the broader legislative package that includes a historic $150 billion investment for the Medicaid HCBS program—have stalled in the U.S. Senate. Now, members of Congress and President Biden are indicating that they will consider drastically scaling back the legislation or breaking it up to move individual pieces of the package separately.

Whether HCBS funding will be included—and to what extent—remains uncertain as congressional Democrats seek to identify a Build Back Better package on which the entire caucus can agree and pass through the budget reconciliation process. Therefore, it’s imperative that you contact your Senators now and tell them that HCBS funding must be included in a revised Build Back Better package.
