The Arc Minnesota is requesting you to join the Public Policy Network - your connection with state legislators in St. Paul can make a huge difference for you and your loved one with disabilities

The Arc Minnesota is requesting you to join the Public Policy Network. Your connection with state legislators in St. Paul can make a huge difference for you and your loved one with disabilities.

One of the key activities at The Arc Minnesota is statewide public policy advocacy. To be effective, Arc depends on individuals and families across Minnesota who are informed and engaged with their state senators and representatives. Reaching people in every part of the state has been crucial to the success at the State Capitol in the past years; it will continue to be true in the 2017 Legislative Session.

You can have an impact on your state legislators right where you live. Calls, personal e-mails, and individual visits with legislators in your district are the most effective ways to affect public policy.

Your state legislators have been and will continue to be key decision makers on issues that affect you and individuals with disabilities in Minnesota. They need to hear from you so their decisions and their votes reflect what you need.

Make sure your voice is heard; sign up to be part of our Public Policy Network. Visit the ARC website at www.arcmn.org/stayinformed or contact Mike Gude at 651-604-8066 or mikeg@arcmn.org.

Once you’re signed up, you’ll receive:

  • The Public Policy Update which includes current developments at the State Capitol and in Washington, D.C.
  • Weekly public policy blog posts during the legislative session.  These posts contain insights, thoughts, and personal observations from ARC and other policy advocates.
  • Action Alert messages to contact elected officials at the appropriate moment with the information and tools you need to be an effective advocate.

The 2017 Legislative Session will start on Tuesday, January 3rd.  To have the most impact, we need to have as strong a network of advocates – sign up today!
