The 5% Campaign Reveals 2015 Plan

We need to continue the momentum and need your help to make sure the newly elected officials continue to make people with disabilities a priority

Last year our voices were heard at the Capitol with legislators providing a much needed 5% rate increase for Home and Community-Based Services.

We can contribute our success to your dedication of ongoing contacts with legislators and Governor Dayton. We need to continue the momentum and need your help to make sure the newly elected officials continue to make people with disabilities a priority. Even with the recent increase, rates for Home and Community-Based Services are far behind the pace of inflation and staff turnover remains a challenge.

In 2015, The 5% Campaign again seeks a 5% rate increase to ensure high quality services for people with disabilities are available, stable, and sustainable.  An increase will ensure better compensation for caregivers and support quality services so people with disabilities can live as independently as possible in the community.

Contact Newly Elected & Returning Legislators

Now through December we want to make sure every legislator is asked to support a 5% rate increase in 2015. We hope you will join The 5% Campaign again to help us make another increase a reality!

Messages to Share with Legislators:

  • Senators - All of last year's senators are returning as they were not up for election this year. Thank them for their support of the 2014 rate increase, discuss what it has meant to you, and tell them why an additional increase is important in 2015.
  • New House Members - Congratulate them on their election.  Introduce yourself, explain the work you do, the services you or a loved one receive, and why HCBS matter. Describe how the 2014 rate increase impacted you and why an additional increase is important in 2015.
  • Returning House Members- Congratulate them on their re-election, thank them for their support of the 2014 rate increase, discuss what it has meant to you, and tell them why an additional increase is important in 2015
