Volunteer Grant Writer

We are looking for a volunteer grant writer to research, write, and submit grant applications on our behalf. The position is flexible and can be completed virtually.

 Key Responsibilities:

  • Research potential grant opportunities from foundations, corporations, and government sources.
  • Write compelling grant proposals and supporting documents tailored to each funding source.
  • Collaborate with staff to gather necessary information for applications.
  • Track submitted applications and follow up as needed.
  • Maintain records of grant applications and outcomes.

Qualifications:

  • Strong written communication and research skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Previous grant writing experience is a plus, but not required.

Time Commitment:

Volunteer Office Manager:

We are looking for a part-time Office Manager to help manage our front desk and administrative tasks. This is a part-time position located at our main office in Saint Paul.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet visitors and answer incoming phone calls.
  • Assist with scheduling appointments and managing calendars.
  • Organize and maintain office files and records.
  • Support staff with data entry, mailings, and other administrative duties.
  • Sort the mail and any deliveries that come in.
  • Help ensure the office runs smoothly and efficiently.

Qualifications:

  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Friendly and professional demeanor.
  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, email, etc.).
  • Ability to multitask and work independently.
  • Previous office or administrative experience is a plus, but not required.

Volunteer Activity Assistant

We are looking for a volunteer activity assistant to help plan and assist with activities at one of our homes. This position is part-time at our Ludden House up in Mounds View.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Plan activities, in conjunction with house staff, based on the needs and interests of the individuals you are working with, such as:

  • Sports watching, discussion and activities related to sporting events
  • Coin collections discussions
  • Card games & board games
  • Crafts
  • Letter writing and assisting with social contacts
  • Community integration, which may include shopping, dining experiences, movies, music/theater events, church, civic and community organization involvement, swimming, etc.
  • Walks in the neighborhood

2. Coordinate and plan for in-house and community events in conjunction with the Program Manager/Coordinator.

3. At the completion of any activity, return materials, clean up activity area.

4. Communicate and document all activities completed

5. Complete on-going training as needed

6. Advocate for individuals needs while in the community.

7. Adheres to all policies and procedures and philosophy of The Phoenix Residence, Inc., and complies with all rules and regulations of licensing agencies.

8. Maintains cordial and professional relationship with all team members. Presents self as an effective role model and representative of The Phoenix Residence, Inc. in work, language, dress, communication, professionalism and maturity.

9. Complies with all safety guidelines, including proper body mechanics. Uses and maintains equipment in safe manner.

10. Reporting any incident or unsafe situation to the Program Manager/Coordinator.
