Human Resources Generalist

We're looking for a full-time Human Resources Generalist to provide support in hiring and onboarding of our new employees.

Come make a difference in the lives of adults with disabilities! The Phoenix Residence, Inc. provides person-centered, quality living experiences for individuals with disabilities. We currently provide services for 104 adults in 20 homes located in Dakota, Ramsey, and Washington counties.

The Phoenix Residence, Inc. has a current opening for a full-time Human Resources Generalist position open. The Human Resources Generalist provides support in all areas of Human Resources, including recruitment, hiring and training of employees, participates in committees, and acts as lead when the director is unavailable.

The Human Resources Generalist reports to the Human Resources Director who reports to the Vice President of Financial Services who reports to the President. The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for recruitment and screening of candidates for employment, staff orientation, communications with staff, and maintaining files and reports. The position involves strong communication skills, organization, and flexibility. It involves knowledge of current and proposed employee and employment laws and regulations. The position requires the ability to be employed full time. 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Recruit and screen candidates for employment, ensure that qualifications are met, checks references
  • Interviews applicants, creates offer letters, and prepares new hire packages
  • Conducts staff orientation regarding personnel policies, procedures and benefits
  • Processes human resources information, such payroll changes and transfers
  • Maintain accurate personnel files and human resources database
  • Places ads, screens, interviews, checks references, and makes job offers to potential employees
  • Handles all personnel information and issues in aprofessional manner while maintaining confidentiality
  • Displays a positive, supportive and cooperative manner, open and welcome to problem-solving
  • Complies will all Phoenix policies and procedures, and all licensing agencies and regulations
  • Attends all required trainings

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Relations, Human Resources, or related degree in communications field.
  • Ability to be employed full time.
  • Experience preferred.
  • Ability to read, write and speak the English language.
  • Ability to sit for long periods of time.
  • Ability to bend, stoop and reach.
  • Experience with computer systems preferred.
  • Ability to travel between sites and, if driving, holds a valid license and maintains a safe driving record.
