Minnesota's House and Senate leaders are now making important decisions about funding targets - how much funding their committees will be instructed they can spend or have to cut this session. Both the House and Senate have released their initial budget targets that include hundreds of millions of dollars in cuts to Health and Human Services. Committee leadership will now put together their recommendations for what gets funded in 2017.
We need them to make a wage increase for Direct Support Professionals a top priority in 2017! Together we can build on the momentum we created at ARRM/MOHR Day at the Capitol last week.
Please contact your Legislators and Gov. Dayton now and tell them why Best Life Alliance wage increase for direct care workers supporting people with disabilities cannot wait another year!
- If your Representative or Senator is a Republican: Tell them why it is critical to support a wage increase in 2017 and ask them to please speak to their caucus leadership in support of prioritizing Best Life Alliance legislation.
- If your Representative or Senator is a Democrat: Tell them why it is critical to support a wage increase in 2017 and ask them to please speak to their caucus leadership and Governor Dayton in support of prioritizing the Best Life Alliance legislation.
