Nurse Educator

The Phoenix Residence is accepting applications for a part-time Nurse Educator to lead and instruct courses for nursing and Direct Support Professional staff members.

Come make a difference in the lives of adults with disabilities! The Phoenix Residence, Inc. provides person-centered, quality living experiences for individuals with disabilities. We currently provide services for 100 adults in 19 homes located in Dakota, Ramsey, and Washington counties.

The Phoenix Residence, Inc. is currently accepting applications for a part-time Nurse Educator. The Nurse Educator will lead and instruct courses, including medication and insulin administration and infection control procedures outlined in 245D, SLF, and ICF/DD licensing rules and regulations. This position will assist with all activities assigned by the Director of Nursing, such as quality of care, staff education, and training related to health services, maintaining records, and audits.

This position requires flexibility, including evenings and weekends, to assure adequate education and training of nursing staff and Direct Support Professionals. Additionally, the Nurse Educator will also facilitate the observation of nursing students who are seeking a nursing certificate from accredited nursing programs.

Qualifications:

  • A current RN license to practice nursing in the State of Minnesota
  • Responsible for complying with and acting according to professional licensing agency ICF/MR facility and waiver regulations and policies/procedures of The Phoenix Residence
  • Maintains and fosters professional relationships with individuals we serve, their families, medical staff, consultants, and community contacts
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Instructor certification or the ability to complete preferred
  • Experience with the treatment of individuals with developmental disabilities preferred
  • Ability to travel between multiple sites
  • Ability to read, write, and speak the English language
