Financial Assistant - West St. Paul

The Phoenix Residence has a current opening for a part-time Financial Assistant to assist with financial duties at our main office.

Make a difference in the lives of adults with disabilities! The Phoenix Residence provides person-centered, quality living experiences for individuals with disabilities. We provide services for 100 adults in 19 group homes throughout Dakota, Ramsey, and Washington counties.

The Phoenix Residence is now accepting applications for a part-time Financial Assistant at our main office in West St. Paul. Please note this position is part-time, but has the potential to become full-time.

Job Description:

The Financial Assistant is responsible for the overall claims submission process, including processing accounts receivable claims and invoices in order to assure timely payments. The Financial Assistant reports to the Vice President of Financial Services, whom reports to the President/CEO of the organization. This position is a non-exempt position, working up to 30 hours a pay period.

  • Responsible for claims submission, resolution, and follow-up activities
  • Responsible for checking status on submitted claims to ensure accurate processing of claims
  • Responsible for monthly renewals to county agencies and follow up as needed
  • Responsible for recording accurate information on spreadsheets for accounts receivable, leave days, services during the day, and limit reports
  • Responsible for following up with various agencies in regards to payments and issues
  • Maintains all accounts receivable files, including scanning documents
  • Adheres to all Phoenix Residence, Inc. policies and procedures
  • Communicates effectively and displays positive, supportive and cooperative conduct
  • Other jobs as assigned

Job Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalency
  • Education background and/or employment experience with bookkeeping procedures
  • Preferred prior experience with billing and knowledge of DHS billing procedures
  • Ability to be employed full time
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to be flexible, organized, and capable of meeting deadlines
  • Ability to read, write and speak the English language
  • Ability to sit for long periods of time
  • Ability to bend, stoop and reach
  • Experience with computer systems preferred
  • Ability to travel between sites, hold a valid driver’s license, and maintain a safe driving record
