Advocating in Washington

The Phoenix Residence continually advocates for those with disabilities, even on a national level! The Phoenix Residence President/CEO Darlene Scott and Vice President of Operations Mary Thirsten visited Washington, D.C. last week to show their support.

Representatives from across the state, including ARRM, met with both staff and elected officials of Minnesota senators and representatives. Scott and Thirsten had the opportunity to meet with policy staff for Rep. Betty McCollum (D-MN).

Thanks to all the organizations’ advocacy efforts, the Senate called off the Graham/Cassidy Health Care Bill vote.
