The 2016 Legislative Session is on the Horizon

The 2016 legislative session is on the horizon and The Phoenix Residence is laying the groundwork to prepare. As an organization, we have committed to reach out to elected officials within the districts of our homes to discuss the important issues affecting people with disabilities. We firmly believe a joint effort with our family members and our staff will make a huge impact!

We are asking you to contact your legislators as well as those in the district where your loved one lives to share your story; send a letter, an email, or make a phone call. Your help with this matter is paramount!

Here are few ideas to include in your correspondence:

• Ask the legislator to support individuals with disabilities and vulnerable adults in Minnesota
• Inform the legislators about organizations like The Phoenix Residence and the important services we provide
• Why a rate increase is so important. State funding is needed to address the workforce shortage and keep up with rising costs.
•  Most importantly, tell your story!
